Scholarships are a form of financial support for college students from various community organizations and businesses. They are competitively awarded to applicants based on academic or other specific submissions and achievements. Ranging from hundreds to thousands of dollars, scholarships can help cushion the cost of books and supplies or can fund your entire semester’s tuition.

Bank of Guam is offering a L.I.F.E. Scholarship for students of the University of Guam (UOG) and Guam Community College (GCC). Patterned after its landmark LIFE (Live, Imagine, Fulfill, Experience) Teen Expo, the Scholarship supports local institutions of higher learning with an emphasis on corporate social responsibility.

Award Amount:

Up to two (2) awards of $2,500 each

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a continuing college student with a minimum of 24 completed credits attending the same institution for 2 consecutive semesters.
  • Be a full-time student (12 credits) attending the University of Guam or Guam Community College.
  • Must submit all required attachements with the original completed application form. No copies accepted.
  • Bank of Guam employees and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.

  • Submit a completed application
  • Submit Pitch Tank Submission, which involves submitting a concept for a project or initiative aiming to solve some of our island’s biggest issues such as food insecurity, environmental degradation and access to education.
  • Copy of college transcript with applicant's GPA and number of achieved credits (unofficial copy accepted).
  • Copy of current schedule for the semester.
  • List each on a separate sheet of paper to describe your: College experience, scholastic honors & awards, extracurricular activities, and employment history.

This scholarship is presented through the Bank of Guam.
The University of Guam Cancer Center announces the availability of graduate research fellowships in cancer disparities research. Current masters students at the University of Guam are invited to apply for a graduate assistantship and research assistant positions made available by the Pacific Island Partnership for Cancer Health Equity (PIPCHE). This is a cancer research, training and outreach program in partnership with the University of Hawaii, funded by the National Cancer Institute’s Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities.

Award Amount:

Up to $3,000 per semester

Eligibility Requirements

  • U.S. citizen, U.S. National, permanent U.S. resident, or citizen of one of three U.S. Compact Nations (FSM, RMI, ROP)
  • Admitted to a relevant master’s program at the University of Guam.
  • Suitable m entor who is a University of Guam faculty memb er with experience in cancer research or relevant field.
  • Interest and/or thesis topic related to cancer health disparities in the Pacific.
  • Students of Pacific Island ancestry and/or students with significant exp erience in the Pacific region will be granted priority.

This scholarship is presented through the UOG Cancer Research Center and University of Hawai'i Cancer Center.
The Herminia Dierking Scholarship program is sponsored and funded jointly by the Guam Association of Government Accountants (AGA) and private sector contributors in recognition of the achievements of the late Herminia H. Dierking, a legislator, educator, humanitarian, past president of AGA Guam Chapter, past regional vice president of AGA Pacific Rim, and a past recipient of the AGA National Chapter Service award.

Award Amount:

Two awards of $1,000 each

Eligibility Requirements:

  • The applicant must be a full time (12 credit minimum) incoming Junior or Senior enrolled in the UOG School of Business and Public Administration with a major in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance and Economics or Public Administration.
  • The applicant must have a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) of 3.0 as of Fall Semester 2020.
  • The applicant must submit an essay as evidence of his/her commitment in promoting accountability and transparency in the government environment.
  • The applicant must demonstrate desire to excel and plans to graduate with a major in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance and Economics or Public Administration disciplines.
  • Award winners will be required to participate in at least one AGA community service project.
  • Past AGA Guam Chapter scholarship recipients are not eligible.
  • Awards will be issued to the University on your behalf to offset the cost of tuition and fees or books.

This scholarship is presented through the AGA Guam Chapter.
The purpose of this scholarship program is to assist in the development of engineering and architecture talent among permanent residents of Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) and Republic of Palau (ROP).

Award Amount:

$3,500 to $5,000

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a permanent resident of Guam, CNMI, FSM, ROP, or a dependent of active duty or reserve military personnel who are from Guam, CNMI, FSM, or ROP.
  • Exhibit sincere interest in obtaining an engineering or architectur e undergraduate degree and returning to Guam, CNMI, FSM, or ROP after graduation to begin their professional career.
  • Be accepted to or plan to enroll in an accredited engineering or architecture program. (A candidate may apply for the scholarship before being accepted to the undergraduate program).

Application Requirements

  • The attached 2-page SAME Application for Engineering/Architecture Scholarship
  • Education Goals – 500 Word Essay
  • Provide a minimum of two (2) letters of recommendation from persons who are well acquainted with the applicant and can vouch for his or her character, integrity, sincerity, and ability to work with others. One letter shall be from an official from the school most recently attended.
  • Official school transcript (High School or College transcript as applicable)
  • SAT or other standard achievement test results. If you did not take one of these tests, please state as such on the application form
  • Students already enrolled in college programs must submit their grades from the last quarter/semester and class schedule for the next quarter/semester
